It always amazes me that Chiang Mai is a major city in Thailand. There is a huge feeling of space throughout even though you know you are surrounded by guest houses, bars, hotels, businesses, building sites and mayhem. This photograph shows how that feeling of space is created. Of all the tiger photographs I took (and there were many) this one is the most spectacular. The camera was set on macro, I got down on my knees (very quietly and carfully), got as close as I could possibly get and took the shot. I was about one inch from it's nose! What an incredible (stupid and dangerous) experience to go through.
