Modern Neopagans use the triquetra to symbolize a variety of personal and traditional beliefs. Germanic Neopagan and Heathen groups who use the triquetra to symbolize their faith generally believe it is originally of Norse and Germanic origins. Celtic Reconstructionist Pagans use the triquetra either to represent one of the various triplicities in their cosmology and theology (such as the tripartite division of the world into the realms of Land, Sea and Sky), or as a symbol of one of the specific triple Goddesses, most notably the Morrígan. It is also sometimes used by Wiccans and some New Agers to symbolize either the Wiccan triple goddess or the triplicities of mind, body, and soul.

It was also used by B.E. Druids, it symbolizes Earth, Sea and Sky. Three aspects of Nature that Druids hold sacred

The symbol was later used by Christians as a symbol of the Trinity (Father, Son and Holy Spirit). This appropriation was particularly easy because the triquetra conveniently incorporated three shapes that could be interpreted as Christian symbol.
<media:price>$27.30</media:price>

<media:keywords>awesome, black tee shirt, beach bag, clothing hat pagan, pagan symbols, religion, wiccan symbols, celtic symbol, trinity, triquetra, accessories, hoodie, t-shirt, apron, rock angel, neopagan, air, earth, sea, paganism</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

The design is derived from the older, equal armed solar cross. To the Celts, the Celtic Cross was a symbol of the four quarters, the North representing wisdom and stability, winter and death; the East knowledge, learning, youth and spring; the South vitality, passion, strength and summer; the West intuition, emotion, inner knowledge. The circle connecting the four arms of the cross symbolizes the unity and the eternal cycle of life and rebirth. The Solar Cross symbolizes masculine and active / kinetic energy and the Sun. This distinct style of cross with a ring dates from the early middle ages and is found in churchyards throughout Scotland. As Christianity spread, the Celts were perhaps the most effective at mingling the old ways with the new religion.
