It is usually placed hot in a soft, sliced bun of approximately the same length as the sausage, and optionally garnished with condiments and toppings. The flavor of hot dog sausages varies widely by region and by personal preference, as do the toppings on the sandwich. The flavor of the sausage itself can resemble a range of similar meat products from bologna on the bland side to the German bockwurst in the spicier varieties. Hot dogs are traditionally made from beef, pork, or a combination of both meats. Kosher hot dogs are also available, usually all-beef. Unlike many other sausages (which may be sold cooked or uncooked), hot dogs are always cooked before being offered commercially. Unless they have spoiled, hot dogs may be safely eaten without further cooking though they are usually warmed before serving. Vegetarian hot dogs and sausages, which are made completely from meat analogue, are also widely available in most areas where hot dogs are popular.

<media:keywords>hot dog, pop-art, graphic, design, retro, vintage, fashion, apparel</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

Drumlines are usually incorporated into high school or college marching bands, drum and bugle corps or drum and lyre corps, indoor percussion ensembles, and pipe bands, but also can exist independent of these ensembles. The term battery is used to refer to a specific part of the drumline. The battery is the drum section that marches on the field as a group. The battery usually consists of snare drums, bass drums, tenor drums, and cymbals. Stationary percussion within a marching ensemble is called the front ensemble or pit. This also describes the area where those percussion instruments are set on the field.

<media:keywords>pop-art, fashion, clothing, tees, t-shirts, apparel</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

Consequently, it is used frequently to help maintain pulse in an ensemble and is thus sometimes referred to as the "heartbeat" of the group (the bottom bass was also often referred to as the "thud" bass in days gone by, indicating that many of their notes were the last one at the end of a phrase). Although this player does not always play as many notes as fast as other bass drummers (the depth of pitch renders most complex passages indistinguishable from a roll), his or her role is absolutely essential not only to the sound of the bass line or the drum line, but to the ensemble as a whole, especially in the case of parade bands.

<media:keywords>humor, funny, pop-art, fashion, clothing, tees, t-shirts, apparel</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>
