1938 Railroad Advertisment - The 20th Century Limited was an express passenger train operated by the New York Central Railroad from 1902 to 1967, during which time it would become known as a "National Institution" and the "Most Famous Train in the World". In the year of its last run, The New York Times said that it "...was known to railroad buffs for 65 years as the world's greatest train". It made few station stops along the way and used track pans enroute to take water at speed; after 1938 it made the 960-mile journey in 16 hours, departing New York City westbound at 6:00 P.M. Eastern Time and arriving at Chicago's LaSalle St. Station the following morning at 9:00 A.M. Central Time., averaging 60 miles per hour (97 km/h). For a brief period after World War II, the eastward schedule was shortened to 15½ hours. the 1938 edition of the Century was considered to be the world's ultimate passenger conveyance—at least on the ground.
<media:price>$14.30</media:price>

<media:keywords>train, trains, 20th century limited, ny central system, vintage train</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

Many think Orwell's vision of the future was correct. - Orwell was right. "Orwellian" is an adjective describing the situation, idea, or societal condition that George Orwell identified as being destructive to the welfare of a free and open society. It connotes an attitude and a policy of control by propaganda, surveillance, misinformation, denial of truth, and manipulation of the past, including the "unperson" — a person whose past existence is expunged from the public record and memory, practiced by modern repressive governments. Often, this includes the circumstances depicted in his novels, particularly Nineteen Eighty-Four.
Nineteen Eighty-Four uses themes from life in the Soviet Union and wartime life in Great Britain as sources for many of its motifs.

The main point to be drawn from these terms by a singer or speaker is that the end result of resonation is, or should be, to make a better sound.
There are seven areas that may be listed as possible vocal resonators. The term "domestic dog" is generally used for both domesticated and feralvarieties. The dog may have been the first animal to be domesticated, and has been the most widely kept working, hunting, and pet animal in human history.
The present lineage of dogs was domesticated from gray wolves probably about 15,000 years ago. Though remains of domesticated dogs have been found in Siberia and Belgium from about 33,000 years ago, none of those lineages seem to have survived the Last Glacial Maximum. Although DNA testing suggests an evolutionary split between dogs and wolves around 100,000 years ago, no fossil specimens prior to 33,000 years ago are clearly morphologically domesticated dog.
Dogs' value to early human hunter-gatherers led to them quickly becoming ubiquitous across world cultures. Dogs perform many roles for people, such as hunting, herding, pulling loads, protection, assisting police and military, companionship, and, more recently, aiding handicapped individuals. This impact on human society has given them the nickname "Man's Best Friend" in the Western world. In some cultures, dogs are also a source of meat. In 2001, there were estimated to be 400 million dogs in the world.
<media:price>$18.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>dog, dogs, dog walker, dog walking</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

In the years 2014 - 2015 a rare Tetrad sequence will occur on the Jewish Holidays of Passover and the Feast of Tabernacles. In addition to the Tetrad occurrence, 2 total solar eclipses will complement the 4 lunar eclipses on the Jewish New Year and the Feast of Trumpets.

Eclipses may occur when the Earth and the Moon are aligned with the Sun, and the shadow of one body cast by the Sun falls on the other. So at new moon (or rather Dark Moon), when the Moon is in conjunction with the Sun, the Moon may pass in front of the Sun as seen from a narrow region on the surface of the Earth and cause a solar eclipse. At full moon, when the Moon is in opposition to the Sun, the Moon may pass through the shadow of the Earth, and a lunar eclipse is visible from the night half of the Earth.

Tetradia ; Sometimes 4 total lunar eclipses occur in a row with intervals of 6 lunations (semester), and this is called a tetrad. Giovanni Schiaparelli noticed that there are eras when such tetrads occur comparatively frequently, interrupted by eras when they are rare. This variation takes about 6 centuries. Antonie Pannekoek (1951) explained this phenomenon and found a period of 591 years. Van den Bergh (1954) from Theodor von Oppolzer's Canon der Finsternisse found a period of 586 years. This happens to be an eclipse cycle; see Meeus [I] (1997). Recently Tudor Hughes explained the variation from secular changes in the eccentricity of the Earth's orbit: the period for occurrence of tetrads is variable and currently is about 565 years; see Meeus III (2004) for a detailed discussion.
<media:price>$30.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>blood moon, tetrad, tetradia, lunar eclipse, solar eclipse, eclipse, 4 blood moons, red blood moon</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

J. J. Grandville was the pseudonym of French caricaturist and illustrator Jean Ignace Isidore Gérard. His early carreer consisted of regular contributions of highly satirical political caricatures for a series of Parisian periodicals. He garnered a great deal of popularity for this work but following the reintroduction of censorship of caricatures in France in 1835, he pursued a notable career as a book illustrator. He illustrated a number of standard works gaining a reputation as the premier illustrator of works such as Gullivers Travels andRobinson Crusoe. His fantastical ilustrations featured a wonderful variety of inanimate objects brought to life, mixed up animal creatures (which he refered to as Metamorphoses) , crazy characters and an imaginative creativity that predated and influenced the school of Surrealism.
<media:price>$29.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>grandville, jean ignace isidore gérard, cent proverbs, vintage illustration, satire, paris, french</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

Don't have an advanced degree or any formal training? Hated Organic Chemistry? That's ok – you can be a Citizen Scientist!

A wise set of researchers are currently harnessing the enthusiasm, skills, and people hours available through interested individuals. They seek to match technology with your desire and interests, giving you a variety of opportunities to contribute actively to scientific discoveries from your laptop or iPhone, regardless of your educational background.

Citizen science is scientific research conducted, in whole or in part, by amateur or nonprofessional scientists. Formally, citizen science has been defined as "the systematic collection and analysis of data; development of technology; testing of natural phenomena; and the dissemination of these activities by researchers on a primarily avocational basis". Citizen science is sometimes called "public participation in scientific research."
Citizen-science activities can take many forms:

	Citizen scientists can help gather data that will be analyzed by professional researchers. The Audubon Society's Christmas Bird Count, which began in 1900, is a good example. The American Association of Variable Star Observers has gathered data on variable stars for educational and professional analysis since 1911 and promotes participation beyond its membership on its Citizen Sky website. On BugGuide.Net, an online community of naturalists who share observations of arthropods, amateurs and professional researchers contribute to the analysis.

	Citizen scientists can help analyze data that has been gathered by professional researchers. SETI Live, EyeWire , Galaxy Zoo, and other Zooniverse projects are examples.

	Citizen scientists can volunteer at a research center or join a research expedition, such as those organized by the Earthwatch Institute.

	Citizen scientists can compete in competition such as NASA's International Space Apps Challenge.

	Citizen scientists can build and operate their own instruments to gather data for their own experiments or as part of a larger project. Examples include amateur radio, amateur astronomy, and Maker activities.

	Citizen scientists can travel to areas that are seldom visited by professional researchers. Examples include James Cameron's DeepSea Challenger project and Citizens in Space
<media:price>$30.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>science, citizen science, scientist, citizen scientist, scientific</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

A Pictographic Maya Calendar showing the date; 12-21-2012. There are a variety of popular beliefs about the year 2012. These beliefs range from the spiritually transformative to the apocalyptic, and center upon various interpretations of the Mayan Long Count calendar. The Solstice on December 21, 2012 ~ precisely at 11:11 AM Universal Time ~ marks the completion of the 5,125 year Great Cycle of the Ancient Maya Long Count Calendar. Rather than being a linear end-point, this cycle closing is naturally followed by the start of a new cycle. 2012 is also considered the completion of the 26,000 year Precession of the Equinoxes cycle, and some say it also signifies the end of a 104,000 year cycle.
<media:price>$30.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>2012, maya, mayan, long count, mayan long count calendar, 12-21-2012, mayan calendar, mayan long count</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

Climbing is the activity of using one's hands and feet (or indeed any other part of the body) to ascend a steep object. It is done both for recreation (to reach an inaccessible place, or for its own enjoyment) and professionally, as part of activities such as maintenance of a structure, or military operations.

Rappelling is the controlled descent down a rock face using a rope; climbers use this technique when a cliff or slope is too steep and/or dangerous to descend without protection.

Slang terms for the technique include: rapping or rap jumping (American slang), deepelling (Canadian slang), abbing (British slang for "abseiling"), rappling (Hindi slang). The term rappel / rappelling is derived from the French language: French, recall, return, rappel, from Old French, recall, from rappeler, to recall: re-, re- + appeler, to summon.

The origin of the abseil is attributed to Jean Charlet-Straton, a Chamonix guide who lived from 1840–1925. Charlet originally devised the technique of the abseil method of roping down during a failed solo attempt of Petit Dru in 1876. After many attempts, some of them solo, he managed to reach the summit of the Petit Dru in 1879 in the company of two other Chamonix guides, Prosper Payot and Frédéric Folliguet, whom he hired. During that ascent, Charlet perfected the abseil.
<media:price>$50.95</media:price>

<media:keywords>climbing,rappelling,abseiling</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>

<media:price>$4.40</media:price>

<media:keywords>climbing,rappelling,abseiling</media:keywords><media:rating scheme="urn:mpaa">g</media:rating>
